Raichur: An ambulance van carrying the dead body of Lingappa who died in Bangalore, to his native village Hathikuni in Yadgir taluk, met with a road accident on NH 23 at 4AM(early hours of Tuesday) near Gadesugur in Sindhnoor taluk of Raichur district, killing 11 persons on the spot.

A lorry dashed head-on against the Van of the villagers(including children, relatives, and other villagers), and seven persons were injured seriously, apart from 11 dead.

The Hathikuni village with 12 dead bodies is now completely in a silence that you observe only in a cemetery.

Too  many persons in the van, and rash driving by lorry driver. Police are looking in to book the case.
