Bangalore : The eleven month long tenure of Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda ended on July 11, Wednesday, when he submitted his resignation to the Governor. However, prior to the CM left his official residence, he was greeted by thousands of his admirers and followers who had gathered outside his residence and pleaded him not to resign. They intercepted his car, blocked the road, by lying flat on the ground and pleaded that Gowda should not resign.
Sadananda Gowda who spoke to his admirers said he had to resign at the orders of the high command and that he would continue to remain an ordinary party worker.
The police had to finally intervene to make way for the CM’s motorcade. Outside Rajbhavan too hundreds had gathered to appeal to DVS not to resign. The CM who left to the Governor’s office in his official car returned by his private car.
Prior to tendering his resignation he garlanded the Basaveshwara Statue near Vidhana Saudha. Here, he was honored by Shivarudra Swamiji of Beli Mutt.
