Belthangadi: Belthangadi Taluk 11th Literary Meet president D. Vishnu Bhat has declared that those who do not know Kannada have no employment in this state. The Government should not close down Kannada schools, but make it obligatory for those working in private institutions to learn Kannada compulsorily, at the cost of losing its licence by such a company that does not allow Kannada in Karnataka.
The present meet on Kannada is held in Mundaje. He called upon all literary writers to be agile about Kannada linguistic development, but without fighting among themselves. He told listeners that there was no differentiation of caste and creed in literary matters.
Dr. V. Permudi of Puttur inaugurated the taluk meet of writers. Former Minister Gangadhara Gowda released a souvenir on the occasion. Prabhakar Bangera opened an Exhibition on Chitpavan Brahmins.
Pradeep K. Kalkura released books. Sridhar G. Bhide welcomed, Veereshwar thanked. Several dignitaries were present.
