Kasargod: Two boats met with an accident resulting in injury of 12 persons and a loss of nearly Rs 12 lakh, on Thursday at Kiyur.

Umeshan (35), Abdul Khader (31), Ranjit (43), Vijesh (30), Ashokan (36), Lalu (30), Sai Babu (42), Chandran (40), Shashi (40), Sabith (35), Binu (35) and Balan (49) are the injured persons.

These people have admitted to Kasargod general hospital. A boat f Shree Kurumba company and a boat owned by Yousuf, met with the accident. Due to the accident boat’s engine and nets have been damaged completely.

Local people saved these 12 from drowning in the water.
