Karkala: Two Christian women’s sporting Hindu names, Indu S. and Chitra, were arrested by the police around NITTE 7 km from Karkala for trying to convert a third woman Amaravani of Kalambadipadav by entering her house, and distributing leaflets and books to entice her to embrace Christianity. Soon the news of their arrival in NITTE, spread like wildfire and members of VHP, Bhajarangdal and other Hindu units rushed to the spot. To pull them out of Amaravani’s house
The Karkala police at this juncture, intervened to prevent a clash and arrested the two women who acted as religious preachers in a bid to convert Amaravani in to a Christian.
The people lashed out at the local police that some time back 12 Muslims were caught and feed for their conversion activities of local peoples and now, the same police had detained two women only to release them later on without any fear on the part of the arrested persons.
True to say the 2 women of NITTE Indu and Chitra were made to sign a bond that they would only propagate and not convert any one in to Christianity in future.
The people of Karkala and NITTE are sullen with anger at the police for the relies of both Muslim and Christian religious activists who drop leaflets and booklets among Hindus to attract them to convert them to the foreign religions that came from Abroad in order to try to gain more popularity for themselves in India.
