Mangalore: Twelve under trials from the District sub-jail in Mangalore have been shifted to prisons in three north Karnataka districts in the backdrop of lack of space, shortage of staff and frequent clash among under trials here.
Praveen Kulal, Vishwanath Poojari, Shivaraj and Somanath, accused in Sulaiman murder case of Udupi, have been shifted to Bijapur jail, while Tallat, Irfan, Sadda, accused in Puttumonu murder case and Mustafa, accused in another case, were shifted to Gulbarga jail.
Three more accused in Puttumonu case namely Jabbu alias Jabbeer, Imran, Ismail, and Farooq a theft case accused, have been shifted to Bellary jail.
