Moodabidiri: Alva’s educational foundation President and Alva’s Nudisiri Committee President Dr M Mohan Alva released the list of 13 achievers who are chosen for Alva’s Nudisiri Award for their contribution in Kannada literature and Karnataka.
“The award will consist of Rs 25000 cash, certificate and memento,” said Dr Mohan Alva while speaking to the reporters on Wednesday.
Dr Giraddi Govinda Raj of Dharwad is a retired professor in Dharwad University. He has written ‘Aa Mukha – Ee Mukha’, ‘Mannu’ and other stories along with poem collections. He has also published 14 critics.
Subraya Chokkadi of Sullia who is basically a writer has written Kavya Samikhse, Krithi Shodha, Ola Horagu critics, Idharalli Adhu, Innondhu Belagu. Magiya Kogile are poem collections and Santhe Mane is his well known novel.
Dr Chennaiah Vaalikara is a novelist, poet, drama writer, researcher and a retired college professor has also chosen for the Alva’s Nudusiri Award.
Dr K R Sandhya Reddy is well known for her translations, folk, poems, short stories. She has written more than 60 books.
G N Ranganath Rao who worked as news editor and as a writer also chosen for the award. Along with these people Akshara K V who completed her post graduation in theatre art at Leads University, England, Harini, film actor, Shrinivas Kappanna, theatre artist, Sampaje Sheenappa Rai, Yakshagana artist, Jabbar Samo, Yakshagana artist, H R Leelavathi Karnataka Shasthriya Sangeetha artist, Dr Sarbe Chandra Shekhar Chowta, who introduced fish farming in sweet water for the first time and Dr G Jnananda, writer are also chosen for the awards.
