Udupi: Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis said that the district administration is taking all measures for the smooth conduct of SSLC examinations which will begin from March 23 and end on April 6.
Speaking at a meeting held at the DC office on Wednesday, she said that as many as 14,643 students are writing the exam. Out of them, 7,650 are boys and 6,993 are girls.
There are 51 exam centres and all of them will have CCTVs installed. Police security has been ensured and basic infrastructural facilities like drinking water have been arranged. The DC instructed DDPI to ensure better facilities for students.
Inspectors will be appointed as well as custodians to accept the question papers. Two vigilance committees are formed. The area of 200 meters in and around each examination centres is declared as a prohibited area, she said and said observers are pressed into service for each examination centre.
She directed the Police Department officials to ensure security to all examination centres while transporting answers scripts and security rooms in various places to keep the evaluated answer scripts.
She instructed officials from the treasury to maintain the appropriate timing while delivering the question papers. She also insisted that CCTV cameras be put in security rooms of the treasury office.
