Mangaluru: As many as 15 barking deers (Munjtac deers) killed by the stray dogs as at the Pilikula Nisargadhama here on Thursday, June 25 night.

As per reports, the dogs entered the park bysupport of fallen tree over the compound wall located near the dumping yard on the backside of the park.

The barking deers died due to severe neck injuries during the attack while two are reportedly injured.

Measures are being taken to increase the height of the compound wall at the spot to curb the street dog menace, informed Jayaprakash Bhandari, director of the park

Meanwhile it is learnt that the number of barking deers at the park had increased and officials were mulling releasing few of them in wilderness.
