Bajpe: An arrangement to settle the arrears of Salary or wages payable for 45 days due to 15 Bihari labourers, by a contractor doing some Construction work for MRPL, was worked out by local Labour Commissioner Venkatesh, when the workers complained to him in a group on Monday, and on the orders of DK dt. DC Tahsildar Ravichandra Naik, Bajpe ASI Shantappa and deputy Rajesh, along with assistant labour commissioner(ALC)called the 15 aggrieved labourers to Bajpe police station, and distributed their pending wages from the concerned Contractor.
GDC Company had kept an amount of Rs.1.90 lakhs pending for 45 days, as wages due to 15 labourers working for it. The money was settled in the presence of ALC in Bajpe Police station.
The workers were also paid Rs.1000 each for expenses to go home in Bihar. Earlier reports said that they were held from an agent of Labour supply in Bihar. The group included a couple who are now happily home.
