Mangaluru : A vessel which carrying 8,000 tonnes of steel coil from Tianjin in China to Beirut in Lebanon ran aground five nautical miles off Mangaluru.

Coast Guard personnel on Tuesday rescued 15 Syrian marine crew from a merchant vessel by Indian Coast Guard Ships (ICGS) Vikram and Amartya in rough weather conditions. MV Princess Miral’s crew had abandoned ship due to hull breach and heavy ingress of water in holds.
