Mangaluru : State BJP unit president B.S. Yeddyurappa said here on Saturday that he would make efforts to strengthen the party in the next two years to win at least 150 seats in the 2018 Assembly elections.
Speaking to presspersons at the Mangaluru International Airport, the former Chief Minister said that he would meet the national president of the party, Amit Shah, in Delhi on April 27 in connection with re-constituting district units and other units of the party in the State. Mr. Yeddyurappa would tour drought-hit districts following the Delhi visit.
He alleged that the law and order situation in the State had deteriorated and the government was lagging behind in responding to the woes of the people. The administrative machinery had come to a halt, Mr. Yeddyurappa alleged.
To a question, he said that disgruntled MLAs and leaders of the Janata Dal (Secular) had not approached the BJP to join the party.
