Mangalore: The 153rd birth anniversary of Kudmul Ranga Rao was celebrated by Akhila Bharatha Mundala Yuvajana Vedike at SDM Law College on July 1, Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, N. Yogesh Bhat, deputy speaker of the legislative assembly, said that Kudmul Ranga Rao was the person who had inspired Mahatma Gandhi too.

He said that he had even fought for the right to education, equality, and employment of the backward classes. He suggested that the road leading to Wenlock Hospital to be renamed as Kudmul Ranga Rao Road.
