Woman found dead at hostel in Mandya

Woman-found-deadMandya : A woman, who was undergoing a training course in tailoring, was found dead, hanging from a ceiling fan, at a hostel in the city on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as S Jayalakshmi (28) of Hosagami village, Maddur taluk. It is said that Jayalakshmi had joined the one-month course offered by Vijaya Bank Self Employment Training Institute (Vibseti), on April 25. The institute had offered accommodation facility and she was staying in the hostel.

Jayalakshmi had given the address of her native village while joining the course, but she was residing with her husband S Raghukumar at Poornaprajna Nagar in Bengaluru.

On Friday, when her roommates got ready to leave for the class, Jayalakshmi told them that she would join them 10 minutes later. Later, she is suspected to have ended her life by hanging with a saree.

She is said to have undergone a one-week training offered under ‘Udyogini’ scheme in the month of January also. The cause for her death is yet to be ascertained. Mandya West Police have registered a case.
