Mangaluru: The three day long Kannada Nadu Nudi cultural National conference `Alva’s Nudisiri` will be held at Vidyagiri in Moodbidri from November 16 to 18.
Veteran litterateur Dr. Mallika S Ghanti will presided over the function and veteran writer and researcher Sha. Shettarwill be inaugurated the 15th edition of `Alva’s Nudisiri`.
Speaking to the reporters on Monday, November 12, Alva’s Education Foundation Chairman Dr. M Mohan Alva said,` The intention of the conference is to spread the beauty of Kannada and its literature. As there will be various programmes like sessions on different subjects, poetry sessions, cultural activities among others, it will inspire the young generation to involve more and more in Kannada literary works under the theme of `Karnataka Darshana- Bahuroopi Ayamagalu. The programmes will be held in six venues simultaneously on all three days”, he said.
“As a part of the literary conference `Vidyarthi Siri` will be inaugurated on the previous day of Alva’s Nudisiri’ on November 15. This `Vidyarti Siri` will be presided over by Sannidhi T Rai, a student of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vidyanagar in Kasargod. The programme will be inaugurated by sandalwood actress Vinaya Prasad. Meanwhile, Murthy Deraje, Master Sadgun Aithal and Sanidhya Special Children’s Residential School will be conferred with `Alvas Vidyasiri` award for their immense contribution in their respective fields. There will also be another programme `Krishi Siri` which will be inaugurated by Minister for Agriculture N H Shivashankar Reddy on the same day. On the next day, a three-day long literary conference `Alva’s Nudisiri` will be inaugurated. As part of the Nudisiri, other attractive programmes like `Chithra Siri`, `Chalanachithra Siri` among other programmes will be held”, he informed.
“The valedictory of the Nudisiri will be held on November 18, where a total of 12 achievers namely Dr. G D Joshi, Mumbai, Dr. A V Narasimhamurthy, Padmasri awardee Dr. Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, Dr. Arundhathi Nag, L Bandenavaza Khalif Aldala, Kalburgi, Dr. K Ramananda Banari, Kasargod, Dr. Narahalli Balasubrahmanya, Bengaluru, Prof. A V Navada, Mangaluru, Fr. Prashanth Madtha, Bengaluru, Ho Na Raghavendra (Garthigere Raghanna), Shivamogga, Aruva Koragappa Shetty and Mysuru Nataraja, Washington, US will be conferred `Alva’s Nudisiri` award. The award comprises a cash prize of Rs 25,000, citation and a memento. Meanwhile, senior litterateur and Chairman of Kendra Sahitya Academy Dr. Chandrashekhar Kambara will be felicitated with Alvas Nudisiri honorary award and he will deliver the valedictory address on the final day”, Alva added.
