Kasargod : Kasargod university premises witnessed a tensed moment on Thursday, as 16 people threatened to commit suicide by jumping from top of the building at Periya.

For the construction of new university building 16 families had vacated their homes and the government had promised to provide alternative place and a job for each family, but for not fulfilling the given promises the members of 16 families threatened to commit suicide.

Police personnel tried to convince them, but they argued that till they receive the written copy of the promises they won’t get down. Later, Deputy Commissioner came to the spot and succeeded in convincing the 16 people.
