Mangaluru : A 17-year-old youth who was riding pillion on the bike died on the spot and bike rider and the pedestrian sustained critical injuries.
A speeding bike hit a pedestrian, before ramming into a road divider and light pole near Kotekar Sankolige, NH 66 on Thursday evening.
The deceased is identified as Ashwith a PU student and son of Manjeshwar Hosangadi Angadipadavu Ananta Gas Agency proprietor Gopala and Shobha couple.
His brother Ashwin (21), who has been critically injured in the incident has been admitted to hospital, pedestrian also seriously injured.
The bike which was speeding from Manjeshwar towards Mangaluru initially hit the pedestrian who was crossing the national highway. The bike rider, who lost control after the hit, rammed the bike into the divider and the electric transformer.
Naguri traffic police personnel then visited the spot and conducted inspection.
The injured have been admitted to Thokkottu private hospital.
