Mangalore:  Suratkal police have arrested two persons on charges of resorting to chain snatching at various places and have seized gold weighing 160 grams from them. A two wheeler has also been seized.

The arrested are Mohammad Rafiq of BC Road and Sarfaraz of Salmara in Puttur. It is learnt, the two were wanted in connection with chain snatching incidents in Padre, Nadugod, Neermarga, Mangaladevi and Pandeshwar.

It is learnt, one of the accused Sarfaraz had studied fire and safety engineering and worked at Barucha group, Pune and involved in the crime with Rafiq during holidays.

The accused have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
