Mangalore: A two-day Camp, with lots of activities to mark one’s leadership in communication and team-building, enriched by fun and motivational sessions, in a camp-fire and nature’s trail, ended at the Presidency school in Mangalore on Sunday (September 5), at the Neermarga school, where 140 students gathered from six (Presidential group) Schools of Bangalore and Mangalore on a residential basis, to partake of annual Camp programmers. The host school put on a festive look for the mega-event.
T. Thangadurai, director, asked the students to practice humility while grooming an effective and successful personality for the future. A novel concept of ‘Leadership Audit’ would be taken up from 2011, as a follow-up of the benefits of the camp held here, he added.
Several resource persons from Lions Club, Jaycees, Udupi MGM College, and Kasaragod Linguistic Centre, besides, Editor of Mangalore Today monthly participated. Capt. Gopinath a physically immobile professor, ad Ms.Preethi Jeevan of Srinivas College of Management held the effect team-building.
Six young leaders took part in a unique panel discussion. A former Journalist S Nandagopal moderated the over 100 listening students, in the discussions.
On Saturday there was a Camp- fire (as among scouts), and a challenging trek made from Pilikula to Manjalpade on Sunday Morning. There were rains on way, to brave for about 120 students trekkers on this Journey in greenery, as they had come from Bangalore city. The tough programmes certainly developed their personality in a happy company conducted by the Centre for Integrated learning.
