Mangalore : A two- day national conference on ‘Indian Banking System: Challenges Ahead’ UGC sponsored was inaugurated at S D M College of Business Management on January 7, Friday.
Karnataka Bank chairman Ananthakrishna, delivered the keynote address. B R Bhat, general manager, corporation Bank was the guest of honour. Dr P Chandramohan, vice-chancellor, Yenepoya University presided over the function.
The two- day conference comprises of four sessions on mergers, acquisition and consolidation of banks by Yogish Acharya, chief manager, Canara Bank, founder’s branch, Mangalore and Prof Ravichandran, vice-principal, Institute of Co-operative Management, Trivandrum, micro financing and infrastructure financing by MM Baheti, principal, NABARD and Prof Chowdary Prasad, TAPMI, Manipal, technology in Banking service by J S Shenoy, DGM, Syndicate Bank and Dr Raghavendra Prakash, Associate Professor, NITK, Surathkal, innovations of new services and product.
A large number of delegates from all over the country participated in the in the national level conference.
