Mangalore : Orissa High Court chief justice V. Gopal Gowda, said that judges and lawyers must verify all the aspects of a case before delivering the verdict.
Gopal Gowda said after inaugurating the 2-day Regional Advocates Conference 2012 jointly organized by the Mangalore Bar Association and the Karnataka State Bar Council at Loyola Hall on April 22 Sunday.
Land Acquisition case, the that lawyers must include the potentiality of the land depending on fertility and other factors while fixing compensation under Land Acquisition Act he stated.
At present over 3 crore cases are pending in the Supreme Court and High Court because of delays in disposal and that over 10 lakh motor accident claims are pending in High Courts and Tribunals, he added.
Karnataka High Court judge Abdul Nazeer, Ananda Kumar Magdum Appu, the chairman of the Karnataka State Bar Council; Justice H. N. Nagamohan Das, the high court judge; K. Parija, the former chairman of the Bar Council of India; and S. L. Bhojegowda, the member of the Bar Council of India, were also present.
