Mangalore : A portion of an old tiled building near the Clock Tower at Hampankatta in Mangalore collapsed on June 3, Monday, injuring two persons.
The staircase passage of the building collapsed due to heavy rains in the morning. One John (62) hailing from Sakleshpur was injured in the mishap He has suffered a fracture in his leg. Even one Pavan has sustained injuries in his hand and has received treatment as an outpatient.
The building housed a bakery, footwear shop in the basement, while there were offices of lawyers in the upper floor. The remaining portion of the building which too is poor state. too is facing fears of collapse.
