Kundapur : A clash between supporters of independent candidate Halady Srinivas Shetty and BJP supporters left two persons hospitalized at Gopadi near here on May 3, Friday night.

The injured are Girish Upadhyaya, a BJP worker and Gopadi-Beejadi GP member and  Venkatesh Acharya, a supporter of Halady.

As per the complaint lodged by Upadhyaya, he was assaulted by Venkatesh Acharya, Vinendra Acharya and Ganesh Putran at Gopady Junction when he was talking with his friends. He has been admitted to a private hospital at Koteshwara.

Meanwhile, Venkatesh Acharya in a complaint lodged with the police said he was first prevented from campaigning for Halady and  pushed and assaulted him  near Gopadi Junction by Upadhyaya, Harish Acharya, Madhava Achar, Dinesh Achar and Ganesh Bhat.

Kundapur police  are conducting investigations.
