Kasargod : Two macabre accidents that took place at Cheemeni and Keecheri here on May 12, Sunday and May 13, Monday claimed the life of four persons and injured 20 persons.
Two were killed and over 20 injured when a bus collided head on with an autorickshaw at Cheemeni. The deceased are identified as Janaki (55) wife of PV Kartambura of Karindala-Peringana and Ashwin (11) son of Anup and Shanti from Kumble. Both were travelling in the autorickshaw. Others injured namely
V Ratnakumari (44) of Trikkaripura, C Srideviamma (67), P Kamala (42), Sushil (40), Sarala (40), Narayana (50) of Ballakadappura, Anand (10), Arun (12), Kiran (7), Sajith Kumar (20), Shanta (46), Muttai (61) abd Narayani (60) have been admitted to the hospital. The condition of six persons is said to be critical.The auto was driven by Girish Kumar who was the son of Janaki.
In another accident reported from Keecheri on Monday, two persons including a woman were killed when two cars collided head on the national highway.
The deceased have been identified as Litty (27), wife of Digo, and Jose Vorkey (30), the driver of the car. Digo and his brother Ditty Varghese were injured. The deceased Litty worked as a hospital in Jeddah and had come home on a holiday. The accident took place when she was on way to Kozhikode airport in an Innova car. An Alto car from the opposite direction rammed into their car.
