Uppinangady : If the Vittal Government College witnessed tension recently following clashes betwween two student groups, on July 25, Thursday, there was a similar clash between students of different communitie at Uppinangady Government First Grade College.Five students were injured in the clashes.
The clashes took place after the brother of one of the girl student arrived at the college and questioned one Ranjith who had reportedly pulled his sister’s hair. This resulted in a clash.
The Principal soon informed the police who ruhed to the college and detained five students.Th arrest of the five students led to protests by the students in front of Uppinangady police station. The police had to resort to caning to bring the situation under control.
Later, the Uppinangady Circle Insepector held talks with leaders of two communities. SP Abhishek Goel and Assistant Commissioner Prasanna visited the police station ad assured a thorough investigation into the case.
