Mangalore : An Automated Driving Test Track  and a Driving Training Institute is planned in a 20 acre land in Mudipu in the outskirts of Mangalore. The driving institute will come up adjacent to the automated track.

The work is expected to begin in the next three month period. Presently, Bangalore has such a track and works on a similar track is underway in Shimoga. The Automated Track equipped with censors on either sides can test the driving skills of a person.

Mangalore RTO C Mallikarjuna  is much interested in executing this project. He had initiated the project while he served in Shimoga.

The driving training institute will train drivers of heavy vehicles particularly in DK where there is high density of heavy vehicles including oil tankers. The facility is expected to ease some work pressure t the RTO office in Mangalore.
