Mangalore : A total of 21 couples enter the wedlock at a 40th Mass Marriage ceremony held at Rosario Cathedral on May 4, Sunday. The event was organized by the St Vincent De Paul Society.
Bishop Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza participated as a main celebrant at a Eucharistic Mass held prior to the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Bishop wished the family to lead a happy married life with mutual understanding and trust among each other.
Later the couples were proceeding to the formal stage programme, accompanied with music bands.
Chief Guest MLA JR Lobo said that marriage is a sacred institution which builds a family that inculcates good values among its members.
On behalf of the newly married couples, Harish D’Souza and Stella D’Souza spoke on the occasion.
The couples from Dakshina Kannada, Kasargod, Udupi, Raichur, Manjeshwar and Bangalore entered into wedlock.
The organizers handed over the gifts worth Rs 10,000 including a fixed deposit of Rs 5000, a saree and pressure cooker to each couple.
Fr JB Crasta, Parish Priest of Rosario Church, Maurice Monteiro, Secretary of St. Vincent De Paul Society and others were present.
