Mangalore : Billavas Dubai and Northern Emirates Association organized a event to distribute the scholarship to the deserving students at Koragappa Memorial Hall, Shri Kudroli Gokarnatha Khsetra on August 22, Sunday.
Speaking after the inaugurating the event Mangalore City Corporation Commissioner Dr Vijayprakash, appreciated the initiative taken by the association to help the beneficiaries. He also said that education plays an important role in personal as well as economic development of the person.
Apart from acquiring personal achievement and the knowledge, one must also try to attain moral values. The parents must develop the thought of developing together in their children instead of focusing on self development.
Billavas Dubai and Northern Emirates president Mohan Attavar the association is working to provide scholarships to students from the past 10 years. We are able to identify the deserving students through the Guru Charitable trust.
Around 8 beneficiaries were given the Medical aid of Rs 10,000 on the occasion.
Four students were awarded with the ‘best student award’ for scoring above 95% marks in their respective examinations. A total of 229 students walked away with a total scholarship amount of Rs 7.63 lakhs.
Director of Rani Abbakka Tulu Study Center Tukaram Poojary, United High School Valakadu Teacher Adke Ravindra Poojary, Trustee of Shri Guru Charitable Trust Ganesh Bangera, Vice President of Billavas Dubai and Northern Emirates Praveen Kumar Attavar and many others were present on the occasion.
