Mangalore : The fourth anniversary if the 26/11 Mumbai attack was observed at the St Mary’s High School here on November 26, Monday . The even ‘26/11-Remembering the Heroes” was organised by Centre for Integrated Learning (CIL) in association with Lions Club wherein the Day was remembered and students also had a chance to interact with 1971 war veteran.
There was an audio visual clipping on NSG commandos like Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan who sacrificed their lives during the operation. Retired Brigadier IN Rai spoke on his experiences during the Indo-Pak war.
The programme began by lighting lamp by students in front of aportraits of five heroes of 26/11 namely Maj. Sandeep Unnikrishnan, Hemanth Karkare, Vijay Salaskar, Ashok Ampte and hukaram Ombale.
The video clippings of the firsthand account of the tragedy and the pride of sacrificing a son to the country, by father of Maj. Sandeep Unnikrishnan, the tale of an NSG Officer blinded in the attack and the actual story of how Kasab was nabbed alive, created a sensation among the audience.
Among others present on the occasion were Aravind Rao Kedige, Lions Club Mangalore President, Sr Maria Tara, Principal of St. Mary’s School.
