Mangaluru: A 27-year-old young woman allegedly committed suicide at her residence at Karmar, Padil on Wednesday evening.

Sowmya (27) is the deceased woman. She was staying at a rented house, which was owned by a former MLA, said sources.

She was an unmarried woman and working at a store at a mall in the city. The motive behind the suicide is not known yet.

Sowmya’s sister who works in Hyderabad is on the way to the city. Sowmya’s body have been shifted to the Wenlock hospital.

A case has been registered in Mangaluru rural police station.
