Moodbidri : 3-day rural sports festival Bhootanateshwara Kreedotsava was inaugurated at temple premises at Mijar on Feb 17 Friday.

Bhootanateshwara Temple trustee Vijaynath Shetty’s mother Prema Shetty inaugurated the event.

The event commenced with the traditional buffalo race.

Vijayanath Shetty, the organizer of the event, and Dhanraj, the former captain of the Indian hockey team, flagged off the competition.

Large number of children participated in a slush field treasure hunt. Various competitions including painting, rangoli, flower arrangement, and others were held on the morning of Friday.

Divakar Chiplunkar, the noted sculptor, was felicitated on this occasion.

The Sandalwood celebrities like Diganth, Pakhi Hegde, and Shivadwaj, Dr. Mohan Alva, the chairman of the Alva’s Education Foundation, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel. Devanand Shetty, the managing director of Dix Shipping; and many others were also present.
