Mangalore: Delivering his presidential address at the inaugural session of a 3-day international Chemistry conference, Vice-Chancellor TCS Murthy observed that Universities should be Complimentary to one another and remain hub of research activities, instead of assigning the basic work to allied institutions.
The synthetic and structural chemistry discussions in ICSSC-2011 took place at Mangala auditorium on Thursday December 8.
He did not want chemistry, physics and biology to be separated, and told that young minds exposed to the best education should also give their best, he urged, to the society.
He turned his attention to women to take up more science studies.
UGC funded the conference Several topics on chemical methods will be discussed in 3 days of the conference. Several scientists from other Universities attended as guests of honour MU professors of Chemistry were present.
