Puttur : A passenger vehicle (Trax Toofan) and Gas tanker collision kills three persons on spot and 13 others were injured on Shiradi Ghat here on Monday June 2.

The deceased have been identified as Tippeswami (30), Shwetha (26) and Shwetha’s one year old Ganesh. Swetha’s husband Manjunath escaped unhurt.

The family from Naganoor in Davangere district have left Davangere on Sunday June 1, they were travelling to Udupi on the NH via Gundya after visiting Kukke Subrahmanya temple.

The bodies were shifted to Puttur government hospital. The injured were admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore by 108 ambulance and other private ambulances.

The driver of the tanker escaped from the scene.

A case has been registered in the Puttur traffic police station.
