Dharwad:  Three persons of Karkala lost their lives when the Indica car in which they were travelling collided against a goods tempo near Narendra Cross here on August 28, Tuesday.

The deceased are Santosh Shetty (38), Rathi Shetty (60) and Nandu Shetty (45). The car driver Kishore of Nasik is learnt to have sustained serious injuries.

The mishap took place when the car was proceeding towards Pune from Mangalore. Some said the car was moving in the wrong direction.

Investigations are in progress.
