Mangalore: Three (fisher) men in a boat who were missing on July 23 were traced to Kozhiode in Kerala on July 28 evening, 30 nautical miles off the west coast there. They will be back home now.
Mohan Bengre, a neighbor of the missing fishermen, said they were brought to Pudiyapu fishing harbour , 5kms north of Kozhikode, and contacted their families. They will reach the harbor from mid-sea on Friday (July 29) morning, he added.
The 3 fishermen went adrift for 3 days when the boat engine failed on July 23 and the boat had to be anchored. The rough sea broke the rope under tugs, Mohan informed.
The boatmen had food only for a day, but they could contact families with a cell phone. Mohan expected the 3 guys – Manoj, Vincent and Francis-m to reach Mangalore by train from Kozhikode on Friday afternoon.
