Mangaluru : In a board day light three miscreants brutally attacked a welder at Chembugudde near Thokkottu on Thursday September 10.

The attacked person identified as Lancy D’Souza (32), a resident of Pandith House, Santoshnagar in Ullal police station limits.

Lancy, welder in profession, when he was returning to home at Pandith House, three men arrived in a Swift car and hit him, Lancy fell off from the scooter, and invaders brutally attacked with lethal weapons. He immediately shifted to the private hospital with gravely injuries.

The miscreants then fled from the spot leaving the car. Ullal police rushed to the spot and found machetes and sickles in the car at the spot.

It is learnt that Lancy is one of the accused in the murder of Hindu activist Yathish Poojary in 2004. Lancy then released on bail. Police suspected that the attack may be connected Yathish Poojary murder.

Ullal police have registered a case.
