Chikkamagalur: Three women Naxalites have surrendered to district administration in Chikkamagalur, creating a new beginning among violent forces to lay down arms for a lasting peace in Karnataka. The state govt’s efforts to bring the anti-socials to reforms and to enter the mainstream of citizens lives is bearing fruits at last.
Mallika, Jaya and Komala who received training in Naxal philosophy, guerrilla warfare and women’s awareness (and freedom) movement and so on, were involved in several criminal cases since 2002.
However, the state govt has taken care to wean them away from violence, said Dr. Channappa Gowda, DyCP and SP Vikas Kumar in Chikkamagalur today.
