Udupi : A family of three including a couple and their seven month old child, who are natives of Bada Yermal near Padubidri were killed in a ghastly road mishap reported from Pandurli in Sannar close by Nasik on June 30, Sunday.
The deceased are Prashanth Suvarna (35), Reshma (27) and Sharan Suvarna, their child. The mishap occurred when the family along with some others had been to a Shirdi pilgrim tour in a Chevrolet Tavera vehicle. It is learnt while negotiating a curve, the driver lost control over the vehicle resulting in the mishap. If Prashanth and Reshma died on the spot, the child died later in the hospital.
Prashanth was the son of Ram Suvarna a resident of near Vishnu Bhajana Mandir in Bada Yermal. He worked for a private TV Channel in Mumbai and the family which stayed in Mumbai had been hometown just in May.
Kusuma Salian (41), Janaki Mendon (62), Shreya Salian (41), and Sushma Mendon (25), who were also travelling in the car and driver Manohar Mendon, escaped with minor injuries.
The bodies of the three were brought to Bada Yermal and cremated on a single pyre on July 1, Monday. A Large number of relatives and friends had gathered for the funeral.
