Kasargod : Three persons were arrested and 54 kg of ganja was seized from them by the Kasargod police on March 12, Tuesday.

The arrested are Abdul Lathif (40) of K K Pura, Talangere, Kalandar Shafi (22) of Kaikamba, Uppala, and Haris of Talangere. The ganja was hidden in their Tata Sumo vehicle.

When police were checking vehicles at Kandadka, the Tata Sumo failed to stop and was given a chase. The police were finally successful in  trapping them at Soorlu. Interrogations revealed that they were trafficking the drugs from Mangalore.

Investigations are in progress.
