Bantwal: 4 Kerala Muslim students for Beary’s Institute of Technology in Mangalore, went out for a bath in Netravathi river in Jalakadakatta (Bathing platform), Bolyaru village on Sunday but got drowned, but one of them in view of dangers involved, were disregarded by the students. 12 students had come to play football and when the ball slipped into water, 4 students went after it, and were washed away.

ACP Jagannath, MLA U.T.Khader and Konaje SI Shiva Prakash rushed to the spot. Till 9.30 at night, the boys were not found. Expert swimmers from Ullal are searching for the 3 boys, who were in 1st semester of BE of BIT.

The incident took place around 5.45 PM (evening). 2 boys were from Kannur, one from Malappuram, and one other from Kasaragod got into water, sources informed.
