Mangaluru : An under construction railway under bridge near Jeppu collapsed on Monday evening.
The works were underway for the bridge when a portion collapsed at around 5.30 pm on Monday. As many as 12 workers were at the site. While three were injured the rest of the workers had a miraculous escape.
The mishap occurred when the 11th load concrete was being laid on the slab. The works were underway since the past six months.
The contracting company is Mumbai based Vijay Infra Project and the project cost is Rs 50 crore. The same company had undertaken the Padil underpass works.
