Kundapur : A nearly 30 member strong group of assailants forcibly entered the house of one Nazeer Saab at Mookambika Janatha colony at Sharke near Vandse on august 11, Sunday night and attacked four family members. A dispute over releasing water to the colony is said to be the reason for  the attack on the family members of one Nazeer Saab who was a pump operator who released water to the colony.

Nazeer’s wife Faridabanu (40), sons Imran(18), Rizwan (21) and Irfan(17) were injured.

Sources said one Uday had forcibly taken responsibility of releasing water to the colony.  But, when local people opposed the way he released water, Nazeer Saab’s son Imran had released water recently and had even removed the fuse of the pump. It is believed that Uday was angry over this and attacked the family with the help of his friends.

After the attack, the accused too got themselves admitted to hospital. Some of them have been identified as Gopal, CD Manja, Vinod, Avinash and  Mahesh.

Kollur police are investigating the case.
