Mangalore : Rohit Hoigebail, the driver of an officer in Mangalore City Corporation was attacked by four persons who came by bike near Ladyhill  in Mangalore on July 20, Saturday morning.

According to reports, Rohit was proceeding to pick the officer when he was attacked with shap weapons by the four men. However, when people gathered around, the assailants fled the place and could not be caught.

Rohit was admitted to a hospital very soon. He has suffered injuries on his hands and neck due to the attack. Sources said a property dispute was the reason behind the attack. Rohit has identified one of the assailants as Shailesh. He also said he has been seeing some men following him since few days and had feared that he would be attacked.

He is learnt to have told that some people who  had rivalry with him had sought the assistance of Shailesh, a man with criminal record, to attack  him.

Barke police are investigating.
