Bhatkal: In a rare but horrible accident, a cruise car with 8 travellers trying to overtake a Bus, dashed against it with such an impact that the car was totally Smashed and 4 of them died on the spot, while the speeding bus that collided with the car, rolled over into a ditch by the edge of road.

Among 4 survivors in the car, two kids were critically injured. Among the dead also, there were two kids, a woman and the car driver.

Whereas the bus was travelling from Mangalore to Gulbarga the car was going to Davanagere via Bhatkal on Friday, April 27 and the accident took place at night(8-45pm).

There were 42 passengers in the Bus, from Mangalore and Udupi. Among the injured in Bus, was Fr.Godwin Serrao posted as principal at a new College in Gulbarga. The injured are taken to Bhatkal and Mangalore hospitals.

The car hit 2 electric poles, disrupting power supply in the coastal area. CIP Shiva prakash with a team rushed to the spot.
