Sullia : The Sullia Police and the District Crime Investigation Bureau (DCIB) sleuths have arrested four persons in Sullia on the charges of drug peddling. All the four are from Mangalore and were reportedly planning to supply drugs to the under trials at Madikeri prison. Ganja weighing 1.10 kg, cash of Rs 35,049, six mobile phones and a car all valued at Rs 7 lakh have been seized from them.
The arrest took place at Kallagundi and the accused are Arun Shetty (38) of Konchady, who is already an accused in two murder cases, Prithvi Alva (38) of Shivabagh, said to be the son of an elected representative from the district, Nelson D’Souza (29) of Kottara Chowki and Avinash (29) of Bondel, Mangalore also accused in an assault case.
The ganja was found hidden under packets of beaten rice and other chillies and other spices.
They had planned to supply the ganja to Pradeep Mendon, said to be an associate of notorious don Ravi Poojari.
