Mangalore: 4 ruffians were arrested in a murder attempt made in Vitla on Sunday, in a conspiracy directed by Dubai crime leader Ravi Poojary. The Vitla Police guided by Dt. Crime and Intelligence Bureau made the preventive arrests of 2 Hindus and 2 Muslims of Kulai and Uppala. The gangsters were exchanging a weapon meant to kill a businessman in an extortion racket.
Ravi Poojary earlier demanded a ‘Hafta vasool’ (ransom) of Rs.25 crores from a Muslim in Kasaragod (M.G.Mohammed) but Chowta, a resident of Uppala , had intervened.  A pistol was to be given by the 2 Hindu criminals to other 2 Muslim killers to shoot Chowta when the hand of Law intervened and arrests followed.
