Kundapur : Four persons were arrested by the Kundapur Crime Branch police on August 9, Friday for stealing cattle by wielding weapons at Anegudde near Kumbashi recently.

They are Azharuddin of Uchila, Sauhad, Mohammad Mustaq and Mohammad Shahid, residents of Pakeernakatte.

Of them Azharuddin was once caught red handed while stealing cattle at Koni. He had then been arrested and later released on bail. It is learnt, the Karwar police had arrested the four in connection with some other case. When they were brought to Byndoor and interrogated, the theft case came to light.

A sword and a Maruti Omni used by the accused has been seized.

They were produced before the court on Friday and then remanded to judicial custody
