Kasaragod: Four gangsters who had whisked away film producer Tajuddin (29) from a Kalamassery tourist home on March 10, seeking ransom for his freedom, were arrested from various places in Kerala and Karnataka.
The leader of the gang, Irfan and a 25 year old woman (6th accused) were absconding, police said here.
Muttathodu Sukumaran (34) in Kasaragod, Farook (19) from Krishna Pura in Suratkal, Zubair (25) from Duggaladka in Sullia and Sanjay (32) of Palakkad (Chittor) were arrested by Kerala Police this week.
The victim of abduction for money is from Kollam Pudussery, and he made Malayalam films like “The train” and Loud speaker.
He was Kidnapped in Tambanur near T’Puram, down south in Kerala.
The gang entered tourist home in the early morning hours, assaulted Tajuddin to pay Rs.20 lakhs and took him away in a car. The ransom was reduced to Rs 3 lakh but the film producer did not have it.
