Udupi: 41st National Junior Badminton Championship was flagged off with the grand procession on Monday. Tournament will be held for from Dece12 – 17.

Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes inaugurated the procession at Government High-school ground. More than 600 Badminton players had taken part in the procession.

Tableaus were depicting the culture of Karnataka. Chende, Maragalu, Karwar band, Karaga, Hulivesha and other troupes participated in the procession.

The procession moved to Indoor Stadium, Ajjarakadu via CMC office, K M Marg, Court Road, Old Taluk Office and Diana Hotel.

Tournament will be held in two venues. One is district indoor stadium and other one is Manipal indoor stadium. Totally 8 synthetic courts are ready for the tourney.
