Ahmedabad : India notched a much-needed 8-run win over England in a do-or-die 4th T20 international at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
India were limited to a first innings total of 185 after England bowlers picked up late wickets – three in the last two overs. While no England batsman was able to cross the 50-run mark, Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes — who got 46 runs — registered a 50-run partnership that kept England in contention to win the game and the series.
India’s bowling lineup of Hardik Pandya, and Rahul Chahar each bagged two wickets, with Thakur claiming the prized scalp of Ben Stokes, while Shardul Thakur bagged three.
